TechFast

TechFast, a national commercialisation program partnered with the Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC), encourages established and technology-receptive small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) to adopt commercially viable technologies and know-how from Australian research organisations.

In South Australia, this program provides funding, assistance and risk minimisation associated with the transfer and commercialisation of new technology by:

• Identifying established, technology-receptive SMEs that have a track record in their sector and are ready to grow.

• Linking these SMEs with relevant innovative technologies or know-how developed by research organizations.

• Providing ‘hands-on’ advice, funding and support to facilitate the transfer of technology between research organisations and SMEs to benefit all parties.

Potential SME candidates are assessed and selected according to specific criteria.

In the long term, TechFast will improve the scale and speed at which SMEs are able to successfully expand and grow through the accelerated take-up of leading edge technologies.

The program will also assist research organisations in their final stages of research and development.

South Australian Quick Change-Over Competition

Conducted annually by the Centre for Innovation, this competition acknowledges and rewards companies that achieve significant reductions in downtime when altering machinery for manufacturing processes and products, or improving other non-manufacturing processes.

Entrants are required to form teams to work on specific machinery/process change-over tasks that result in increased capacity and reduced costs. Each team is provided with tools and training during the competition phase.

The South Australian Quick Change-over Competition runs throughout the year with an annual awards event recognising high achievers. All entrants are provided with feedback to assist in planning and implementing future change-over initiatives.

Innovation Showcase Program

The Innovation Showcase Program invites South Australian businesses to visit and learn from organisations in a broad range of industries that have successfully applied innovation to their processes, practices, products or services.

The companies profiled in this showcase are recognised for doing things differently, successfully competing within global markets and exceeding customer expectations.
